Kualoa Ranch is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful spots on the island for a wedding. The view of Kaneohe Bay, the old mill down by the entrance, and the beautiful foliage enwrapping everything make it a gorgeous place to shoot at.

what a SUPER FUN reunion! we recently got together with some of our AMAZING, former clients to introduce our new demo reel. we debuted the video at the Wedding Cafe’s wednesday night video showcase and it was a HIT! enjoy, some of our most favorite summer 2009 moments!

it’s a common practice for videographers to “cleanup” SDE’s before posting — us included. most times, it’s minor: crop here, color correct there, clean up a few edits or swap a clip. we’re perfectionists, we’re never satisfied. we want to put our best foot forward before the world sees our work.

for brook and char, yes i could pick out a few things i wouldn’t mind tweaking — but they love love LOVED their video so we wanted to keep everything in tact. this is their untouched SDE, exactly how we presented it at their reception (after their super hilarious skit). they are sweet, fun, funky and feisty and we love love LOVE them!!!

first of all, we LOVE love stories. we love getting to know our couples, helping them craft their story, and seeing their personalities come alive in the main feature. what’s even more thrilling.. is the watching their reaction when they see it with their guests. most times.. we hear giggles from the crowd… we almost always see tears too… but, with brandi and jordan… the entire reception was HYSTERICAL. so were we!!! =) ENJOY!

song choice is huge. a great same-day edit could easily be overlooked without a great song. when we started choosing songs for our SDEs… we started stressing out BIG TIME. it takes us hours… days sometimes to find THE PERFECT SONG. a song that illustrates our style, but more importantly our COUPLE’s style. the first time i met shay and tiff… i got the warm fuzzies… they were so sweet… so REAL… and they adore each other. this song turned out to be PERFECT for them. congrats shay and tiff… we adore you!

We traveled up to the Emerald City for a few days to produce a video for New Hope Seattle’s 5th Anniversary–an amazing story in itself . As always, Pastor Jon Burgess, his family and his church family were a total blast to be with and we loved every minute of our visit to the Pacific Northwest.

p.p.p.s.  Fresh gnocchi in browned butter with wild forest mushrooms and baby asparagus at Crow near the base of the Space Needle? Scrumptious.  Absolutely.

Beach plus golf course equals an excellent, excellent arrangement.  Kevin and Heather were married on the beach at the 18th hole at Turtle Bay Resort.  The winding maze of a drive across the golf course was completely disorienting, but completely rewarding upon arrival.

cameras. batteries. microphones. lights. laptop. shooting a wedding can be chaotic. so many things to think about, so many things that could go wrong. this song and this couple.. reminded us of how important it is to ‘STOP’ …and look for the simple, subtle moments. those, to us, are the most beautiful. thank you, grant and sachi =)

Last week I met up with Chris and Nina at the Nuuanu-Judd trailhead for their engagement shoot.  It’s a beautiful area where, unfortunately, the mosquitos fell madly in love with Nina’s legs.  Maaaadly.  But her gentle humor made the best of their fanaticism and we found ourselves laughing despite the pesky pests.
